Banning Mother’s Day: The Far-Left’s Next Step to Erase Women

Mother’s Day is not inclusive enough, so wokes want to cancel it.

A couple of days ago, I came across a Twitter thread from the Arizona Informer about Mother’s Day. According to the thread in question, something “strange” is happening with U.S. companies: some of them have sent “Opt out of #MothersDay” emails to their customer base. “This reeks of anti-family activists”, the Arizona Informer lamented in the first part of its thread.

But as I see it, the companies’ intentions with their opt-out emails have nothing to do with breaking away from family traditions. It has more to do with empathy, as many have lost parents or children, confronted fertility issues, or maintained complicated relationships with family members.

But still: the time is near when the woke movement, which seeks to extend to all spheres of activity, will end up banishing Mother’s Day — and Father’s Day — for good because the new normal for the far-left is to erase men and women, as I clearly demonstrated in this article.

An increasing number of organizations, like The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Language Project, are asking us to avoid the words “male” and “female” as, they say, they reinforce the idea that sex is binary, as much as they emphasize “hetero-normative views.” So they must be replaced with terms like “sperm-producing” or “egg-producing” people.

Of course, “man” and “woman” must be banned for the same reasons, just like their equals, “mother” and “father”, which are then replaced by “parent/egg-donor/sperm-donor”. So the reasoning, here, is purely logical: if our mothers are now “egg-donors”, they can no longer be celebrated as mothers.

Bye Bye Moms

If you think that the idea of scrapping Mother’s Day is a conspiracy theory, think again. In 2018, a British market chain, Waitrose & Partners, decided that the term “mother” was too problematic for its liking. So the company sent cards wishing “Happy You Day” (?) as a replacement for the previous “Happy Mother’s Day”.

At least, Waitrose sent cards. In an elementary school in Carmarthen, Wales, it is forbidden to prepare cards for Mother’s Day during school time. But this madness is not the sole preserve of the UK.

In 2017, officials at the Albert McMahon Elementary School in British Columbia, Canada, sent a letter to parents informing them that classroom craft sessions for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day would not be allowed. Thus, students are forbidden to make cards for their mothers and fathers. The move, the school’s officials believed, was to help boost diversity and acceptance.

In Australia, parents with kids attending a Melbourne elementary school were made aware that Mother’s Day had been canceled. The school’s administrators said that the celebration honoring mothers was “offensive” and “not inclusive enough.”

In Sydney, an increasing number of childcare and early learning centers rebranded Mother’s Day to allow “all families to be included.”

These are just a few examples of what will likely become the new normal in the West. As this article’s headline says, banning Mother’s Day is the far-left next step to erase women.
