Indefinite goals trace a path leading nowhere;
I hunker down, embrace specificity, 
prioritize
what’s right and 
leap,
absorbed into infinity,
resisting 
the pressures of my apathy,
crushing the core of life’s anxieties— 
when did I get

Respite

Just another word I’ve mispronounced all along,
as I’ve failed to spell ‘disappointed’, or ‘embarrassed’.

Of course, now that I’m sober, having corrected myself on the two of them yesterday in a yet unpublished draft, it was easy to get them right this time.
