#WKW Aleali May

This week’s spotlight forWoman in Kix Wednesday is the image consultant, model, blogger and sneakerhead Aleali May. Her take on the Air Jordan 1, Shadow Satin, will be released on Oct 28th and will retail for $140. Aleali is the first female to design a Jordan that will be released in both mens and womens sizing. This collab pays homage to her classic Los Angeles roots, from the OG LA Raiders and LA Kings color scheme, to the use of premium materials like black corduroy that reminds her of the house slippers from the Slauson Swap Meet that her dad and uncle used to wear.

I’m so excited to see another female sneakerhead with a Jordan collab (see Va$htie). More of these types of things need to happen. Maybe one day a woman can get a whole capsule like Virgil. But until that day, we just gotta keep grindin and kicking down doors. I can’t wait to get my hands on these!
