| Are you a vlogger or want to be? Let’s talk about how to give your videos that “polished” look with Camtasia and Canva

Creating and sharing videos can be a fun and rewarding outlet for your creativity. Video blogging, or “vlog”, is a great way to connect with people who share similar interests, and can be a fun way to get the word out on your favorite crypto platforms and updates.

Heck, just look at this guy, one of the top US-based YouTubers with 99 million subscribers. His channel is not crypto, but at that point, who cares! He has become a multi-millionaire from YouTube!

In this article, we will discuss:

  • Why Video?
  • Video Blog Tools
  • Video AI
  • Using Camtasia to Edit Videos
  • Custom Thumbnail Art with Canva
  • Cheat Sheet #4 — Vlogging

Why Video?

Market research suggests that social media has become an important part of our lives. Looking at theses statistics from 2021, we can see that the YouTube platform beats the rest with over 1.8 Billion unique visitors PER MONTH. So, knowing that people like to watch video tutorials, watch then trending short “reels”, it makes sense to get a piece of that pie and consider making videos a part of your social media strategy.

Video Blog, or “Vlog”, Tools

When you start out, there is no need to get fancy. Your mobile device and a simple native editing software usually included on your device or desktop can do it. But, as your experience grows, you could start to make small upgrades. here and there to get better quality and more efficiency out of your efforts.

Here are just some tools you might find useful as you start up your video adventure.

First, let’s assume you are just using a mobile device to record yourself. I think that’s a great way to go with the high resolutions that are available these days. I just looked down one day and saw that my iPhone can record videos in 4K resolution! Later in this article, we will show you how to use these recordings to compose a video to post on social media platforms or a website.

Below, is a gimbal for a mobile device. It is designed to follow you and stay level, no matter what angle you hold the handle. This works well if you are active and moving around while recording.

Or, if you are more static, you can look for an all-in-one stand and microphone boom like this:

USKEYVISION Smartphone Vlog Kit. “Amazon’s Choice”.

For software, some platforms have their own movie editing software. But for me, I use Camtasia. Here is a LINK to a free trial.

We will talk about that next to create multi-layer attractive video. I would suggest a large screen laptop or a desktop to do that.

Video AI

BONUS Feature: Synthesia

One other software platform I use is Synthesia AI for Video. This is a special treat I am excited to tell my readers about. It uses AI avatars with Video templates to create “faceless” or anonymous videos for you!

For me, I am somewhat of a public figure for what I do for a living, so I have enjoyed using Synthesia to create, not only videos, but voice-overs for some of my other videos, using AI avatars.

Here is just a sample of one of my videos using this AI platform Synthesia. One advantage is that it can give your videos a professional touch, because it eliminates the “uh’s” and “um’s” from normal speech, without having to rehearse or use Big Vu.

Keep this video in mind, not necessarily for the content about Grape Finance, but more about the mechanics, animations, sound, and music, because, in a moment, I will share how I created this video! Here is my referral link banner:

How To Edit Videos in Camtasia

Camtasia is a powerful video editing suite to create professional-looking, multilayer videos. They have both free and premium assets that include intro/outro templates, music, sound effects, shapes, and annotations.

What you do is create a video, maybe even with just your mobile device or a video camera, and upload it. Then use Camtasia to edit and spruce it up.

For example, here is the construction layout for the video about Grape Finance above:

Professional quality video editing with Camtasia.

You can see in the image above, that to create the 5-minute video, I have 6 or 7 different layers of annotations, music clips, animations, transitions, intros, and outros.

I like Camtasia because it makes editing very simple with simple drag-and-drop features, right click for options, and a large library of assets at your disposal, without much worry about copyright infringement.

The way it works is you access your desired features on the left, drag-and-drop your animations, captions, shapes, icons, uploaded images or videos, etc directly onto your canvas timeline.

While intimidating at first, using a video editing software can bring a nice “polished” touch to your crypto content videos! :) While I plan to do more detailed articles about Camtasia, it would be impossible to go over all of that here.

If you would like more walkthroughs on editing videos in Camtasia, I learned all of this in the affiliate marketing training from Legendary Marketer — Here is my referral link for a 15-video content-rich video series to all of these things for just $7:

Custom Thumbnail Art with Canva

Let’s face it, when you scroll articles and videos, the picture that accompanies the post can ‘make or break’ your decision to view it, right?

When you post an article or a video to a social media platform, you will get better click-throughs with an attractive thumbnail picture that accompanies your post.

These images or gifs can be created easily on Canva.com. Again, simple drag-and-drop of elements, templates, uploaded images or videos, gifs, sounds, and music make videos a snap! Download them as a static image for video thumbnails, or as gifs for for social media posts. Here is just an example that I whipped up in about 60 seconds …
