Cabrochinha: how to be chic at a French restaurant

In Mônica Salmaso’s charming voice, Cabrochinha is an irreverent song composed by Paulo César Pinheiro and Maurício Carrilho, released in album Iaiá, in 2004.
This song is about a man who gets home full of joy, calling out his loved one, fondly named cabrochinha, so that she would come and appreciate his brand new clothing. He explains to her that he won the lottery and earned a little money from it. He asks her to wear that lilac short dress he likes and, excited about having money burning a hole in his pocket, he says he is going to take her to dinner at a French restaurant.
Trying to be ritzy at the restaurant, he mixes portuguese and french words: “Mais, s’il vous plaît, monsier waiter, take away the menu because I understand nothing at all”. Still high-spirited, he orders an escargot, a Dom Pérignon champagne and a truffle filet mignon.
After eating the dessert he thinks it is a good idea to put an end to the glamour going back to his roots, the samba. And, at the end of the night, they go to a comfortable bungalow to make l’amour.
