What to Expect From AI?

Artificial Intelligence technology is getting more advanced year after year. This technology is growing in is certainly here to stay. Eventually, nearly every business will have AI incorporated into it. Businesses that deny the use of AI are simply delaying the inevitable.

Why use Artificial Intelligence?

Many people know what AI is, but do not quite understand its purpose other than being an artificial friend for lonely computer programmers. Artificial Intelligence will play a monumental role in business. But what are some reasons to use it? According to an article written by Alex Chica, a student studying accounting at the University at Buffalo(2018, September 29),” Most artificial intelligence in businesses will be driven by many factors like increasing efficiency, obtaining a competitive advantage, and customer request.” In other words, in order to maintain a competitive edge, businesses will adapt with the changing technology and deploy AI to boost efficiency.

How many years away are we from seeing AI replace human jobs?

It is inevitable that AI will replace the jobs of many humans, but how far away are we from seeing this? The answer is that this revolution has already begun. Although AI has not yet displaced an entire field of work yet, it has made small impacts here and there. AI have replaced many fast food cashiers in the form of kiosks and has also replaced many telemarketers. AI is also used in the form of online chatbots on company websites to assist customers with their purchases.

Should we fear AI?

Artificial Intelligence is a very new technology that has still not yet met its final potential. Although we cannot be certain as to what this technological phenomena will bloom into, it is silly to fear what it may one day be and halt the progress of AI when it may be able to solve many problems.
