Trump just slapped U.S. economy AGAIN (and did Canada 1 huge favor)
In the months following Donald Trump’s re-election as president of the United States, a lot of Canadians were left asking themselves, “What did we do to deserve this?”
Now, the government here might be asking the same question in a much different tone.
That’s because Donald Trump, continuing a long string of losing economic moves, just slapped American businesses in the face again.
And Canada stands to be a huge winner.
Huddled masses no more
Chiseled into a tablet at the base of the Statue of Liberty reads the following:
“Give me your tired, your poor,
“Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
“The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
“Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
“I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
It’s a nice thought, isn’t it?
Those huddled masses, looking up at Lady Liberty and in search of the American Dream, inspired to build something from nothing in a new land.
The reality of modern immigration is a lot more pragmatic … and cynical.
