The start date of the Crowd Fundraiser (Batch C) of the Cardstack Token Generation Event is Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 13:00 CEST.

The Crowd Fundraiser will be conducted on our Minimal Viable Product (MVP): the TGE Dashboard, a web application for conducting token generation events. The dashboard is powered by our data orchestration layer, the Cardstack Hub, syncing instantly with the Cardstack Token Smart Contract using our Ethereum/Geth plugin, integrated APIs and WebSockets.

The Cardstack Hub is fully open sourced and you can access the code at github.com/cardstack/cardstack.

Contribution Notes

Please familiarize yourself with the full token metrics for the Cardstack TGE. Review the contribution caps.

Whitelisting is now closed. In order to contribute to the TGE, you must have:

Please read the following notes carefully.

  • Contributions must be made in Ether (ETH) to the Cardstack Token Smart Contract.
  • The Smart Contract address will only be available on the Cardstack TGE Dashboard at https://cardstack.com. Beware of fakes and scammers.
  • You may contribute more than once, as long as your total contribution amount does not exceed your cap.
  • Contributions that exceed your cap will be rejected by the Smart Contract. You will be charged for gas you consume.
  • The minimum contribution is 0.1 ETH.
  • The Smart Contract will not accept contributions once the Hard Cap (35MM USD) is reached.
  • We will send your Cardstack Tokens (CARD) to your whitelisted address as soon as your contribution is successfully received. Tokens will be unlocked and transferrable no later than 30 days after TGE ends.

The Cardstack Telegram Will Be Read-Only

For security reasons, the Cardstack community Telegram channel will be set to read-only during the TGE.

If you need help during the TGE, you may message directly with a team member by navigating to your TGE dashboard and clicking on the chat icon in the lower right-hand corner.

Contribution Caps

When the TGE opens on May 31 at 13:00 CEST, the individual contribution cap will be 5 ETH during the first hour. Based on our statistical analysis, this amount should allow eligible participants to contribute at the fundraiser start while paying a reasonable gas price (see instructions below).

We encourage you to act as early as possible, as the the smart contract accepts contributions on a first-come, first serve basis.

About one hour after the TGE start, all contribution caps will be raised to 15 ETH or a higher number near the AML limit (USD $10,000). This will be the only cap raise during the Crowd Fundraiser. Contributions made during the first hour will count toward this cap.

Please note that this cap raise time is approximate, as changes to the smart contract take effect once successfully mined by the Ethereum blockchain.

As promised, our early supporters will receive a higher initial cap as a symbol of our appreciation. If you are an early supporter, you will be able to view your cap when logging into your dashboard just before the start of the TGE. The early supporter cap will not exceed the AML limit of USD $10,000.

Using the Dashboard

Type https://cardstack.com into your browser and press Enter.

Log In to your dashboard from the top-right hand corner of the page. On mobile, press the top-right menu button to log in.

The dashboard panel provides a live view of the Cardstack TGE. If you have not been whitelisted, you may use the dashboard to observe the progress of the TGE.

Important note: The data displayed in the dashboard reflects transactions that have been successfully mined on the Ethereum blockchain. Transactions could take a few minutes to appear.

Hard Cap / Current Funds Raised

The Hard Cap module displays the current progress toward the TGE Hard Cap (35MM USD). Current Funds Raised is a live estimate of funds raised in all rounds of the TGE. These numbers represent Batch A, B, and C.

Once the Hard Cap is reached, the Cardstack Token Smart Contract will no longer accept contributions.

Your Cap Now

This displays your current contribution cap. If you are an early supporter of Cardstack, you will receive a higher initial cap. About 1 hour after the TGE begins, all caps will be raised to the AML limit. See cap details here.

You Have Contributed

This displays your cumulative total contribution amount. Click “Contribute Now” to proceed directly to the Contribute Panel.

Price of Card

The CARD-to-USD rate for Batch C contributors is approximately 1 CARD = 0.017 USD. Contributions will be made in ETH to Cardstack’s Ethereum smart contract. The exact conversion will be set in the smart contract and become visible in the TGE dashboard shortly before the TGE date, and remain at that value until the end of the TGE, ensuring all Batch C participants receive the same ETH-to-CARD rate.

Registration Status

You can review your registration status from the TGE dashboard. In order to contribute, you must have successfully completed all the KYC/Whitelisting steps.

Contribute Panel

From your dashboard panel, click Contribute.

Read the instructions carefully. Review your contribution cap.

Check that your Whitelisted Ethereum Address is correct.

Next, you will find the authentic Cardstack Token Smart Contract Address.

You will be able to verify the address’ authenticity by viewing an embedded Proof-of-Tse (a short video clip of Cardstack founding director Chris Tse reading part of the address).

Contribution Information

Next, you will find the information necessary to send your transaction. This information must be copied and pasted into your wallet, then execute the transaction. (See Wallet Guide)

Wallet Guide (MyEtherWallet)

In order to contribute to the Cardstack Token Smart Contract, you must execute the transaction from an ERC20 wallet you control.

We recommend using MyEtherWallet. The following walkthrough is for MyEtherWallet, though the steps will be similar for most ERC20 compatible wallets.

Note for MetaMask users: We have noticed an interface issue with MetaMask that could make it difficult to copy and paste the information required to send a transaction to our smart contract. If your wallet is on MetaMask, please open it in MyEtherWallet.

Visit MyEtherWallet

Type https://myetherwallet.com into your browser and click Enter.

Open Your Wallet

Click Send Ether & Tokens and follow the prompts to open the wallet containing your whitelisted Ethereum address. We recommend MetaMask users open their wallets using MyEtherWallet.

Ensure Sufficient Funds

Make sure your wallet has sufficient Ether to contribute to the Cardstack Token Generation Event. The minimum contribution for the Crowd Fundraiser is 0.1 ETH.

To Address

Copy the authentic Cardstack Smart Contract Address from your dashboard and paste it into MyEtherWallet. Please double check it.

Amount to Send

Copy the suggested amount from your dashboard and paste it into MyEtherWallet. This amount is equal to your current remaining cap, and is a suggested amount.

Gas Limit

Copy the suggested gas limit from your dashboard and paste it into MyEtherWallet. We recommend 250,000.

Gas Price (Gwei)

Gas prices vary depending on Ethereum network load. Higher gas prices will generally result in faster transactions.

Please check ETH Gas Station for the recommended gas price, then set an appropriate Gas Price (Gwei) in the top right of the MyEtherWallet navigation.

Your gas price will vary.

Based on our statistical analysis, the initial contribution cap should allow eligible participants to contribute at the fundraiser start while paying a reasonable gas price.

Data

On MyEtherWallet, click+Advanced: Add Data.

Copy the 10 digit value in “Data Field,” beginning with 0x, from the dashboard and paste it into “Data.”

Send Transaction

Double check all your information and click Generate Transaction.

Once the Raw Transaction and Signed Transaction appear, click Send Transaction. A confirmation will appear — click Yes.

If using an external wallet (i.e. MetaMask, TREZOR), you may need to confirm the transaction using the external wallet.

Receiving Your Cardstack Tokens (CARD)

Once your transaction is sent from MyEtherWallet, a green dialog box will appear with your TX Hash. Click Verify Transaction to track the progress of your transaction using Etherscan. This could take a few minutes.

When the transaction is successful, you will see the word “Success.”

Scroll down to see the amount of CARD you received under Token Transfer.

On your TGE dashboard, you will see a contribution confirmation, with a link to View your CARD balance on Etherscan.

You will also receive an email confirming your successful contribution.

Cap Raise

About one hour after the TGE start, all contribution caps will be raised to 15 ETH or a higher number near the AML limit (USD $10,000).

The cap raise time is approximate, as changes to the smart contract take effect once successfully mined by the Ethereum blockchain. When the cap raise is initiated by the Cardstack Team, your dashboard will show “Processing Cap Raise.”

When the cap raise has been raised, you will see it reflected in your dashboard. You may now contribute additional funds until you reach your new cap.

For example: You contributed 5 ETH during the first hour. The cap is raised to 15 ETH. You may now send an additional 10 ETH to the smart contract.

Your Contribution Information will also provide you a suggestion of the remaining amount that can be contributed.

Next Steps

Tokens will be unlocked and transferrable no later than 30 days after the Token Generation Event ends.

Thank you for your participation in the Cardstack Token Generation Event. Your continued support is what makes our vision possible.

Important Reminders

  • We will never, under any circumstances, solicit funds from you via email, private message, or social media.
