Launching In-App Purchases for Payment Profiles
Create your payment profile in the Cardstack Wallet mobile app
We are excited to announce that we have launched the in-app purchase capability for payment profiles inside Cardstack Wallet!
Cardstack Wallet is a mobile application for blockchain payments that offers users and merchants gasless payments — making Web3 payments fast, cheap, easy, and accessible to everybody.
A payment profile (formerly called “merchant profile”) is a user’s public profile, hosted under the domain name of card.xyz. This on-chain profile allows users to
- request and accept payments,
- get a unique profile page,
- and earn rewards.
How do I create a payment profile?
Cardstack Wallet guides you through the profile creation process. If you don’t have a payment profile yet, just follow these steps:
1. Install the Cardstack Wallet mobile app on your phone (available on iOS and Android).
2. Open the app and click “Create a new account” (alternatively, you can click “Add an existing account” if you already have an account/wallet*).
3. Create a PIN code for your account.
Your account will now be created for you.
Then, you will be prompted to set up your payment profile.
4. Choose a unique on-chain ID for your profile. This ID will also be your card.xyz address. Note that the ID is final and cannot be changed once the profile has been created.
5. Choose a name and color for your profile. This can be edited later on.
6. Purchase your profile. Since payment profiles are on-chain, they come with a small setup fee to offset gas and other administrative costs. You can pay this fee via in-app purchase / in-app billing, using your Apple App Store or Google Play Store payment account.
Once you have paid the fee, your profile will be automatically created.
You can now start accepting payments in the Card Pay ecosystem!
*If you add an existing account, you will find the option to create a payment profile in the “Profile” tab of the wallet, where you can click “Continue” to start.
