As of 2022 Descartes has now been renamed as Cartesi Compute.

Development Updates

During the last month, the Cartesi team worked vigilantly towards several important milestones, including releasing Cartesi’s Cartesi Compute SDK: Version 1.1.

For a recap on both the Noether and Cartesi Compute SDK v1.1 releases, check out our latest video here.

Additional development fronts the team worked on are:

  • Cartesi Rollups: Concluded coding and redesign of Input and Portal contracts, with basic unit tests coverage. Expanded and optimized CartesiMath and Merkle libraries to keep gas costs in check when interacting with Rollups applications.
  • Continued work and implementation of Noether’s Proof of Stake delegation system which is now nearing its internal testing phase.
  • Architecture and design decisions for Noether, Cartesi’s data availability side-chain.
  • Continued progress on other low-level developments, including improvements to the Cartesi Machine. Moreover, there have been significant improvements to the continuous integration infrastructure and automated testing.
  • Cartesi Improvement Proposals: Initial research and design decisions for a decentralized governance system.
  • Announced Cartesi’s new decentralized poker game in partnership with Polygon. The full Poker DApp technical article will be released soon.
  • Now in the peer-review stages of the brand new tech paper related to a new unique feature of Cartesi’s technology. The peer-review stage may take several months and we will release the paper at an appropriate time.

In addition, the team onboarded 4 new individuals to the team, including 3 engineers; Gabriel Ligneul, Vinicius Ribeiro, Zehui Zheng, and Victor Yves with more to come!

If you’re a skilled engineer and interested in Cartesi, make sure to head over to our career openings or send an email to hr@cartesi.io.

We highly encourage any developer willing to use or collaborate with Cartesi to contact us on Discord. See you there!
