Gabriel Ligneul & Vinicius Farias Ribeiro
It has been yet another exciting week at Cartesi; our integration with Polygon’s Matic PoS Chain and subsequent listing on QuickSwap, as well as our partnership with world-renowned mathematics research institute IMPA meant that there was no shortage of announcements during the first week of April!
This week we also gave a warm welcome to two new Cartesi team members; Victor Yves and Zehui Zheng are talented additions to a growing Cartesi team; today we say hello to two more highly experienced individuals that will no doubt be invaluable in helping us on our mission to make blockchain technology available to the millions of traditional developers and businesses around the globe.
Gabriel Ligneul, Software Engineer
Gabriel de Quadros Ligneul is a senior software engineer from Rio de Janeiro. His philosophy is to deliver high-impact solutions with well-crafted software engineering. He likes a real challenge and is ready to work on any given task. In this previous role at OLX Brazil, he implemented a real-time machine-learning pipeline to detect fraud attempts.
Gabriel also has experience with low-level programming and operating systems development. Gabriel has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in computer science from PUC-Rio. In his Master’s, he worked on Pallene — a novel approach to improve the performance of the Lua programming language.

Gabriel’s adaptability and laser-focus is a welcome addition to Cartesi and we look forward to utilising his “get it done” attitude to problem solving to make even more headway on the various products and features we have in the development pipeline.
Vinicius Farias Ribeiro, Head of Expansion
Vinicius Farias Ribeiro is an experienced negotiator and business development professional. For the last few years he has led negotiations with various companies to build and maintain new ventures and partnerships at Petrobras, also negotiating with Government agents and suppliers.
Vinicius has over the years mentored incubated companies at the COPPE/UFRJ. Working in Marketing and International Sales departments in Thor Granitos and Petróleo Ipiranga, he has held positions at globally recognized companies such as The Coca-Cola Company.
With a PhD from the COPPEAD Institute, part of the Graduate School of Business of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Vinicius also visited the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona as a doctoral student. During his PhD he attended the Doctoral Consortium at the Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Madrid. Vinicius completed an MBA at the COPPEAD with emphasis in International Negotiations, Organizational Behavior and Marketing. His undergraduate degree is in Business Administration — at the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).
In 2016, he was a TEDx speaker; when he presented how Negotiation can contribute for a better world.

Vinicius will play a central role in the global expansion of Cartesi in coming months and years, utilizing his extensive experience in negotiations to forge solid relationships and ventures with key figures and businesses in various industries around the world.
With the addition of these four highly talented individuals, we are proud to showcase an ever-expanding and very diverse team of professionals at Cartesi, capable of carrying out all the necessary actions required to ensure our sustained growth and success in the the future.
