They traveled through the city, the man of the valley struggling to keep up under his basket against the light steps of the outlander. As they reached the outskirts of the city and the end of the valley, they stood before the escarpment that surrounded the valley. There the young man saw a steep trail that led upward, soon lost in the cloud.

The young man said to his guide:

“What is this path? I have never seen it before.”

“It is one of many paths that lead from this valley, each having their own guides. Yet all leading to the same land. I am the guide of this path.
