Four horsemen stood on a mountain, and the clock struck midnight.

‘It’s time for the Harvest,’ said War.

‘The time of Destitution,’ said Famine.

‘And for Demise,’ said Death.

They turned expectantly to the fourth member, who was painting a picture. War grated his iron teeth with anger.

‘Pestilence, what the hell are you doing?’

‘Oh, c’mon! Don’t you see I’m not finished? That little church over there, its glow in the moonlight — I simply must immortalise it. And I’m out of blue paint… Can’t we just postpone this Apocalypse thingy? Please?’

That’s how art saved the world from destruction.

Thank you J.A. Taylor for this prompt(‘Five-Word Challenge’).
