Your parole gone, the Warden sets you free
Price now paid, pick up your scattered debris
No life lies straight — it’s filled with ambiguous curves
Plenty of obstacles to weave around and skillfully swerve

Realize that with no dust upon your panting tongue
You could sing no originally textured songs
In purity’s light, all your shadows darken bright
Possessive of all that is impressive in the night

The earth wants no unsullied feet to dance
She wants her children to laughingly take a chance
So take that blood-mixed mud between your toes
To sculpt your own sphere that will grow as you go

The scattered seeds of this poem came from this fine poem by Dewi.
