Another month has gone by and we have a lot of new things happening at Charged Particles! Let’s brief you on what May looked like at Charged Particles.

Memphis Mural Charging Up Children’s Charity — A Supercharged “EnDAOment” Capsule

Mural by “Birdcap” in Memphis

The mural on the side of Memphis Merchants Exchange building contains a secret — there is over $100k of Aave USDC inside, powered by Charged Particles, with interest generated going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital via The Giving Block.

The mural was originally an illustration done by local Memphis artist Michael “Birdcap” Roy and was purchased online as an NFT, by Sardor Umarov, owner of the Exchange Building. Measuring 50 x 60 feet, the NFT “EnDAOment” Mural is now making waves. Discussions are afoot with LexDAO, with plans to nest the NFT in KaliDAO to vote on charity diversion.

Visitors to the mural will be able to claim a proof of attendance protocol NFT or POAP. These POAPs act as a voting mechanism for where the interest accrued should be donated, making this a community democratic donation mechanism. People can either tap the RFID tag at the bottom of the mural with their mobile phones to directly donate to St. Jude, or they can take a photo of the mural and tag the Exchange Building on Twitter for their vote to be manually counted.

At Charged Particles, we’re excited to see this generous community charitable project in action and proud that it rides upon our protocol. We’re also thrilled to read the writing on the wall for a new use case of Charged Particles: “EnDAOment Capsules”.

Blockdown Swag Bags

Official Swag Bags from Charged Particles! Swag Bag NFT Artwork by SempyArts

We partnered with Blockdown Festival in Croatia to provide lucky attendees with NFT Swag Bags powered by Charged Particles! We were fortunate to have SempyArts create the beautiful artwork for the Swag bags. The 200 NFTs also came loaded with artwork from ejthek or asianjunkies, 2 winners had 25 DAI loaded inside, and 3 lucky people received a Party Degenerates NFT courtesy of one of the sponsors! You can learn more from the medium article we published: NFT Swag Bags at Blockdown. Creating Gift Baskets and Swag Bags are made easy with our protocol and we are excited to see more usage of this technology for future events!

recipients of the swag bags can find either frenetic_exultations iii by Ejthek and Dump Test by Asianjunkies nested inside!

Charged Particles Artist Spotlight

As the Charged Particles community grows and we begin to ramp up into more and more governance decisions, we’re going to be focusing a monthly spotlight on artists from our marketplace. For the month of May, Dozie Arts, an African artist curation organization founded by Vincent Chidozie Ugokwe, was voted the winner in our community hub, The Nucleus.

Each month, we will begin to feature more artists from around the world on both Polygon and Ethereum, culminating in a community-wide vote for that month’s favorite. These selected artists will be awarded a pool of $IONX tokens and will be featured prominently on our various social media platforms.

Portfolio Capsules

You have built a sweet stack of bluechip tokens, DeFi positions, and priceless art. How do you exit and retire as a crypto (m/b)illionaire by selling your portfolio in one stroke?

Option A: Execute dozens of transactions to extricate yourself from: liquidity pools, yield farms, staking protocols, vesting positions et cetera

Option B: Sell/auction your portfolio in one stroke

Option B works like this… 1) At any stage in your crypto journey, you can organize a portfolio of assets within a Portfolio Capsule. This could be your ‘bluechip safe haven fund’, or your ‘degen moonboy WGMI rocketship’. 2) Sell or auction your Portfolio Capsule.

Guilds

Our guilds have seen a lot of growth and action as of late and we couldn’t be happier! We’d also like to officially welcome Terex to our extended team as an Ecology Guild Leader! Terex will be spearheading some of our initiatives within the Regenerative Finance space as well as revitalizing the Grandmother Grove project! On the gaming side of things, we saw the success of CybertoothKat’s game, Rogues & Ronin, which had 32 players pitted against each other in a PvP bracketed tournament! We’d like to congratulate our community member GTKunal for winning the game as well as CybertoothKat for putting together yet another incredible game for our community. If you’d like to learn more about Rogues & Ronin you can check out our medium article here. And as always, we encourage anyone and everyone to join our discord and get involved with our guilds!

Charged Particles in the Media

Ramping up our media exposure and coverage is something our community has been vocal about and we have heard it loud and clear! Here are some notable coverages of Charged Particles in the month:

Our very own Ben Lakoff sat down with the widely-known and popular youtube channel, Altcoin Daily. They discuss all things Charged Particles and Particlon among many other topics. Altcoin Daily boasts 1.23 million subscribers and is one of the top channels covering all things crypto and NFTs. Check out the video and drop a comment!

The Daily Memphian covered the impressive art mural installation by artist “Birdcap” at the Memphis Merchants Exchange building, which features $100,000 nested inside a Charged Particles NFT, generating interest which will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Max Jackson sat with Dkleine, host of the NFP, to discuss philosophy, art, the blockchain, and of course Charged Particles! Dkleine’s podcast is consistently one of the top NFT podcasts worldwide, featuring leaders, builders, artists, and notable folks of the industry. Give it a listen!

Coinmarketcap gave us a delightful mention in their article, “10 Top Yield-Generating NFT Projects”. The article details our technological offerings as well as some of our most promising use-cases!

NFT NYC voting is BACK! And to top it all off, Charged Particles is in the nominations! Under “Best Collaboration Between Defi and NFTs”, Charged Particles is among the nominees. What a perfect category for us! We’d appreciate it greatly to have everyone go and vote for Charged Particles!

We have fixed several minor display bugs in the Dapp:

  • Charged NFTs now display their energized NFT and token contents reliably on both v1 and v2.
  • Pagination has been fixed on a user’s Manage page, and on their Profile page.
  • Manage Page sorting has been altered to display newest-first.

DApp refactors

Several under-the-hood improvements to the dapp to improve performance.

  • Refactored dapp state-management, eliminating unnecessary re-renders and extra calls to APIs.
  • Refactored the image-related components to improve image loading times

SDK

We’ve started active development on our SDK which will be a developer’s gateway to easily interfacing with the Charged Particles protocol. It is our primary focus now, and we anticipate a 2 to 4 month timeframe before we can make it publicly available.

Team Member Spotlight

Steve Neigut

This month's team member spotlight is on our very talented Chief Marketing Officer Steve Neigut, who is deeply ingrained in so many different sectors within the NFT and art worlds. He's an incredibly accomplished internationally published art photographer with a beautiful art collection called "The Art Portraits", he's the founder of AZNFT, a local educational group for onboarding newbies into Web3, and he's a partner at a marketing agency called Digital Radar that he started with his coworker after they had both worked at Google for years. 13+ years in marketing, tactical strategy, leading teams, and cryptocurrency advisement. His aim is to teach, share, learn and safely transition more people into the Web3 space. He's also a huge film and music lover and in his spare time he's looking for new psychological thrillers and great shows to attend.

About Charged Particles

Charged Particles is a protocol that allows users to deposit ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155 tokens into NFTs. A scarce NFT (e.g. Art, Collectible, Virtual Real Estate, In-Game Item, etc.) can now be transformed into a basket holding a number of other tokens. The Principal amount can be time-locked inside the NFT, and through integration with Aave’s aTokens, the programmable yield from these DeFi yield-generating assets is just a few clicks away.
