chiliZ is a blockchain-based platform that allows fans of sports and esports team to take an active hand in how their favourite teams are managed. Whether it’s deciding which player faces an opponent or which skins the team should ‘wear’, chiliZ lets a team’s fanbase decide. We like to call it democratised team management. Inspired by the democratic ‘socios’ system of club management — used by La Liga clubs Real Madrid and FC Barcelona — the concept is simple, but we have gone one step further. Rather than using the fans to vote for a president (who then makes all the decisions), we’ve put the decision-making power directly in the hands of the fans.
