As if reacting to your wayward thoughts, a burning sensation courses through your veins, igniting like fire. You resolve to follow Lorenzo into the cave. Had the old man not acted, you’d be dead.

How bad could one month be?

A vibrant crimson-red cloth covers the sacred altar in the center of the chamber. An ornate, jewel-encrusted dagger rests on top beside various herbs, vials, and what appears to be torture devices. You glimpse a man shackled to the wall.

“Interrogate the prisoner.” Lorenzo waves his hand and a shimmering barrier forms between you. “Fail, and die.”
