You fold your arms. “Your guild hired Zaroph to work with the orcs, and then the orcs burned my village. Care to fill in the rest of the story?”

The guard steps closer.

Okoom glances around shiftily. “We are an honorable guild,” he says at last.

Forcing yourself to stay calm, you smile. “I wish your merchants no harm. But I need answers… to rescue my fellow villagers.”

Okoom pauses, then gulps. “We hired Zaroph, it’s true. The aim was to make routes safer for merchants. But things went wrong — I don’t know why.”

You’re making very slow progress here…
