Helicopter, Helicopter!

A chapter of a ‘choose your own’ story — drabble edition.

This is a continuation of You Are Dead, a Choose Your Own Adventure Story — Drabble Edition started by Bradan Writes Stories. Find out how to contribute here, or return to the previous chapter, “A Show to Die For”.

“I challenge you to a dance off,” you say with a smile.

Death grins (doesn’t he always?), and booms: “That sounds a bit rigged in your favor, no?”

You shrug. “Well, aren’t all of your contests kinda unfair, too?”

He takes a step closer. “Indeed.”

You move back nervously, and start a mashed-potato dance move. “So…shall we begin?”

His bony hands grip his scythe. Faster than you would have thought possible, he spins it horizontally through the air. It’s so quick, it is almost painless.

“I call that move, ‘helikopter helikopter’,” says Death. “And now your flight is over.”

You Are Dead.

A funny thing — I wrote the above without checking the word count, and it turned out to be exactly 100 words without further editing. I guess this drabble thing is sticking in my brain!
