This is a continuation of The Burned Village, a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition,” initially created by JF Danskin. Head back to the previous chapter here or find out how to contribute to the ongoing story here.

No sooner had you felled the pair do you hear footsteps ahead.

You quickly duck down beside a large boulder — the best place you could hide in short notice!

“I’ve returned, as prom — ”

It’s Dara Blackfeather!

You hear her nock an arrow and pull the string back. “Show yourself, murderer!”

You remain frozen, silent.

After several agonizing minutes, her footsteps fade and you risk leaving your hiding place.

You take no more than a dozen steps when you feel an arrow at your back.

“Answer my questions or feel my wrath,” she growls.

You raise your arms in surrender.

Seems that Dara has you dead to rights! Do you:

  1. Surrender peacefully? (Click here).
  2. Try to overpower her? (Click here).

Life was simpler back in the village. Now, thanks to your rash actions, you might never leave this wood!
