Over the following days as the blood mage’s servant, your duties include: collecting firewood and keeping the cave warm enough to bring on a sweat, collecting and cooking food for the mage, and making sure his cup of dandelion tea is never empty.

Your least favourite duties are rubbing Lorenzo’s feet and helping him bathe.

Eventually you learn the locations of his weapons cache, his spell books, his long-term food storage. Your family is never far from your mind. The end of the month approaches and Lorenzo has said nothing about releasing you. You begin to worry that he won’t.

Choices:
