This is a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. Head back to the previous instalment here.

Find out how to contribute to the ongoing story here.

Slinging the axe through your belt, you move around the smouldering house, and its neighbours.

No signs of bodies… then you see a slain man. You pick up a fallen arrow; the scent of blood.

Near the village centre, grass is trampled. Then you hear footsteps and spin around.

A slender archer dressed all in black, with a serious face. “Orcs did this,” she says. “Far ahead on my road, I saw them taking their prisoners to the forest.”

“Then I must hurry.” You fling the arrow down, ready to run.

Wait! I will help, but we need a plan.”

Choices:

  1. Ignore the elf, and rush off towards the forest (click here).
  2. Introduce yourself, and accept the elf’s help (click here).

This is a collaborative story. Please feel free to join in and add a chapter, furthering the story in any way you like. Each main part of the story (not including choices and blurb) should be a 100-word drabble. Or drop suggestions in the comments!
