This is a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. The whole thing begins with ‘The Burned Village’ by JF Danskin. You can also head back to one of the previous chapters: ‘A New Ally?’ by Rayne Sanning or ‘Red Mist at the Moneylender’s Shack’ by JF Danskin. Or find out how to contribute to the ongoing story here.

“Enough lies and manipulation,” you snap, advancing on the moneychanger again. “Tell me everything about people in the village who’re connected to the orcs.”

He flinches. “Well, a group of merchants hired Zaroph…”

“Zaroph the Ranger?” you interrupt.

The man nods. “The forester and spy. He infiltrated the forest orcs. Won their trust.”

You hesitate. Zaroph was your childhood friend, but hates you now… and by extension your village. And now it seems that he worked with the orc attackers…

Wtf?

“If these merchants need this ring, take me there. I’ll trade for information, plus equipment to fight the orcs.”

Continue.
