The human respect for each other has long been gone. We are living in a fraud system as a way of life. Our new belief is known as ‘the fraud’ practices.

The society we live in today need high salary, great job titles, and higher educational levels to be looked up to and respected. Anything lesser than these, we are being looked down.

People treat us as low as the standards of the slavery, stupid children, useless people, hopeless fellas, failures, and good-for-nothing.

So, some things need to change. One of the ways we can learn to build respect is to live according to high standards. So that means, we change our lifestyles.

Respect is an entitlement, not a privilege. But, now we live in an era where we have to strive for it. Play the game. Evolve with the time change.

Let me give you examples of living a high standard.

1 — You do not indulge in high consumerism for waste, but you have the intelligent mind to save.

Work to save some money, even if it is very little. One day, it will be a lot. When you are out of jobs, your siblings will not likely help you. You will thank me for this advice later on in life.

Buy something of good quality because you will save money rather than having to buy again later on. Not everything requires an expensive brand. Materialism does not bring permanent social acceptance and respect because trends change over time. Be reasonable.

2 — You do not indulge in the addiction to Netflix, but find ways to work with side hustles.

We can’t put our eggs in a basket and depend on it. In the same way, you can never work for someone else throughout your life. You could use 3-hours of your spare time to earn some income. Write online or conducting some basic courses. Who knows these help you tide over the rough months?

3 — You do not indulge in the tasty expensive foods like pizza or buying outside foods frequently, but you choose your meals with more vegetables and fruits.

For example, lunch with fruit and the main course as your box of rice with purely different kinds of vegetables. Dinner will be fruit as a starter, and your main course is a box of rice with meat. In this way, you have vegetables, fruits, and meat alongside the carbohydrate in equal portions.

4 — You do not indulge in working all day, but set the time to exercise to walk a few thousands steps daily.

A woman who wakes up early in the morning or returns home in the evening does not have the luxury of exercise. She needs to attend to the household chores. What I usually do is alight about 3-stops before the actual destination to do a brisk walk.

5— You make your bed daily even if it does not make any sense out of it except to look neat.

The hidden message behind making your bed is having the 1st small achievement for the day. It triggers you to go to the next task on your daily list. It is what kicks you in the enthusiastic emotions and feelings first. And you can always make sure your working attire has been ironed a night before.

These are some examples of living a high standard. I did not tell you to chase promotions at work, buy branded items, get as many degree certificates, and live your life aloof as people wow at these temporal factors.

If you do remember the Kung Fu Panda, Po, when he chased the scroll, he was shocked at the blank material. The university certs are just like that empty scroll. Our name got written on it. But, it does not reflect the real person we are in reality.

What is your list of living a high standard in relationships, personal life, and work? Do take time and list them down. Let’s start building our self-respect.

I recommend you to subscribe to the membership that allows you to read more articles from professional writers. Some of them are PhDs from various fields and they wrote wonderful articles.

It cost only $5 monthly and I do not earn any small amount from your subscriptions. Stripe payment services did not work out for me. If you would like to tip me for a cup of coffee, I am here. Thank you.
