MySoftwareScout continues with a consistent string of success: the company got successfully acquired by onetool.

Founded by four CODE students, Jonas Südfels, Lukas Kneip, Harry Trippel, and Stefan Quernhorst, and with a simple mission: to help small and medium-sized companies to use the advantage of digitization by assisting them to select a fitting software vendor. onetool uses this acquisition to fuel its growth within the German-speaking region and will continue to run MySoftwareScout’s services.

There is no magic formula to make acquisitions successful but for something that started as a student project over the summer break back in 2019, this is just wow!

With a straightforward and practical approach, they became one of Germany’s leading software comparison portals. The process of choosing the right software is easy and fast through a digital, technology-empowered service.

They joined APX in January 2020 for their 100-day tailormade program, with venture capital of 50K that helped to scale the product, fuel the growth, and create excellent outcomes quickly. Over a couple of months, the company acquired hundreds of leads and generated several million euros in potential revenue for their partners until April 2020. All this led to the moment when the company became a part of onetool at the end of July 2020.

“We would have never imagined that a student project would turn out to be a venture-backed startup that we turned into a successful exit. With this, we aim to inspire the community and show how other students can do the same. We are eager to help out with our gained network and experience along the way. We are sure that this is not going to be the last successful exit from CODE students,” says Jonas Südfels, CEO and co-founder of MySoftwareScout.

The MysoftwareScout team says that the CODE network was one of the most crucial success factors that allowed MySoftwareScout to grow. Moreover, guidance and knowledge-sharing provided by lecturers and mentors from CODE helped the team tremendously.
