Practical examples to save and invest

I am a hard-core saver. A true believer that, to become financially independent, every penny counts.

At the beginning of the year, I posted 8 Ways to Earn Free Crypto in 2022 and, 7 months later, it is time for an update.

I have to say that much has changed since January. The world is heading into a recession, the crypto world is in turmoil, Bitcoin has lost 60% of its value and a lot of crypto companies are disappearing daily.

However, innovation in the crypto space hasn’t stopped, new concepts and ideas are being experimented daily and, thanks to the lightning network — a layer 2 solution built on Bitcoin — more opportunities to get free tokens continue to emerge.

In this post, I want to share with you a few new projects to get completely free tokens and review some of the previously shared projects.

Before we move on, a disclaimer:

  • This post includes affiliate links, properly marked with *. Where possible, I always add promotions that benefit both the reader and the author
  • I am not part of nor do I represent any of the brands or products discussed
  • I am not a financial advisor. All you read in my articles is based on personal experience with the purpose of entertainment, always do your own research
  • I hold cryptocurrencies in my investment portfolio

1. Fountain

What is better than listening to a good podcast? To get paid to listen to a good podcast! Fountain lets you do just that. Listen to earn.

The Fountain app, available on iOS and Android is packed with features. However, the app is just in its infancy and still needs some time to sort out some of the glitches and bugs that make the experience quite choppy at times.

You can earn a relatively good amount of Bitcoin units, SATs (100,000,000 sats per 1 Bitcoin) per each podcast streamed. Fountain is by far the app that rewards the most compared to any other rewards services I have used.

I have to say that Fountain, at traits, seems too good to be true. Only time will tell.

2. Smiles

Mens sana in corpore sano — a rational mind in a healthy body.

What about earning sats while exercising; free Bitcoin rewards for walking? That is one of sMiles' unique selling points. Also, sMiles gives you free sats for playing games, shopping and more.

My relatively short experience using sMiles has been primarily on the earn to walk. I like the fact that there isn’t much I have to do but walk which I enjoy doing in abundance.

The downside is to have to constantly share your location data with sMiles for little reward. I usually walk more than 10K per day and I get around 20/30 sats in rewards.

However, you can get extra crypto if you play the Satoshi wheel (twice a day), solve chess puzzles and shop through the app.

3. Stacker News

It’s like Hacker News but we pay you Bitcoin. This is Stacker News motto.

A bit like Reddit, a bit like Twitter, the concept is well oiled, post and comments your thoughts with the community. The difference is that you get paid for sharing useful content.

What is quite interesting is that you earn sats individually and as part of the community. Users who have created valuable content are also given sats daily.

4. Sats4Likes

Sats4Likes is a social media marketplace where users complete tasks such as Twitter likes and retweets, Youtube subscriptions, follow accounts, and in return they get sats.

A user can also create tasks investing sats to help grow their follower base on social networks.

To be honest I haven’t engaged too much with Sats4Likes and I find the website very basic and not particularly attractive.

Still, another way to get some free tokens.

5. Lolli (US only)

Currently only available in the US, Lolli makes you earn free rewards in the form of Bitcoin and cash at 1,000+ top stores.

Lolli is a rewards site and browser extension available for Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge that lets users earn bitcoin when they shop from their partner merchants.

The list of shops is impressive and you can earn up to a whopping 30% back in bitcoin or cash.

If you live outside the US you can join the mailing list and hopefully, soon, Lolli will move internationally.

6. Satsback

Satsabck.com* is one of my favourite cashback websites, it is similar to Lolli and it works outside the US. Everything you buy through their affiliate links results in a crypto cashback.

Satsback dashboard*

I have started using Satsback since the beginning of this year and so far I haven’t been disappointed. I have used it for my food delivery with Deliveroo* and JustEat. On average, I am getting around 700 sats for every order of about 35 pounds.

The very good news is that Satsback has a very long list of well-established shops and brands to choose from so there is the potential to open up to a decent portion of free cashback cryptos. Moreover, you can install a browser extension that notifies you when you are browsing an online shop available on Satsback. Very convenient!

7. Brave browser

Brave is a Chromium-based web browser (like Google Chrome) with privacy as its USP. The exciting part is that Brave has a reward scheme that let you earn while browsing. No catch. Free money.

In fact, Brave rewards users with BATs (Basic Attention Token). BAT is a well-established crypto token and it is listed on all major exchanges (Crypto.com*, Binance*, Coinbase*, eToro*, Gemini*, etc).

In my experience, by using Brave every day for my browsing activity — work and entertainment — on a desktop/laptop PC or Android device (iOS doesn’t allow the rewards), you can make around 4/5 BATs per month. To determine the corresponding value in fiat money you need to check the BAT daily rate.

8. 21 Days of Bitcoin*

The number twenty-one is very important in the Bitcoin world. If you are keen to learn more about the king of cryptocurrencies, you can earn money* doing so. Very simple.

21 days of Bitcoin*

By signing up to the 21 Days of Bitcoin* newsletter you will receive, once a day, a lesson via email. A relatively short read no more than 2 minutes. At the end of the 21 days, you take a very simple quiz and get rewarded with 2100 sats. I have to say that I enjoyed it very much. Learned and earned!.

9. Carrot

This is one of my favourite earn-free-crypto options. Carrot is an app that rewards you with 5 sats for every article you read. All the content is crypto-related and from multiple sources.

On average you get 6 articles per day, 30 sats, roughly 11,000 sats per year. It is not a lot, I appreciate that but, I am getting paid to read articles that I would read anyway. How good is that? Every penny counts!

10. Learn and earn

Another opportunity to get free cryptos while learning comes from Coinbase* and Binance* which enables their customers to earn tokens by watching videos and then completing a quiz or assignment to test their understanding of the topics.

Each lesson may earn you around $1 to $12. New learn and earn tokens are added regularly.

All you need to do is register to the Coinbase* and Binance* websites and complete the KYC.

Through the Coinbase* and Binance* L2E programs, I managed to get exposure to coins that I would probably never have considered otherwise.

11. LunarCrush

According to the About Us page, “LunarCrush* collects activity across social media for bitcoin, thousands of altcoins, crypto exchanges, influencers and more, in real-time every single day and distils it all into bitesize, digestible data”.

I use LunarCrush to get a sense of the sentiment in the crypto world. The social vibes on tokens are important signals when it comes to investing.

LunarCrash rewards you for browsing their website regularly with its own Lunr token. At the time of writing, the Lunr exchanges at around 1 dollar.

Depending on the time you spend on the site and the activities you get involved with, you can get to 1 Lunr every week.

Probably the main downside of earning Lunr at the moment is that this token is not listed on the major exchanges.

12. Nodle

If you haven’t lived in a cave for the last few years I am sure you are familiar with the concept of crypto mining. It usually requires to get very expensive equipment, a good internet connection and some degree of technical expertise. The rewards can be huge but you need investments, time and a lot of passion.

What if you just needed a smartphone instead?

Nodle gives you the opportunity to mine and earn Nodle cash, its native token with your phone. Before you get too excited I should say that the Nodle cash token is not yet available on any exchange. It has no value (yet).

Although you can still earn free cryptos you have to believe in the project and hope that soon enough Nodle cash will be listed and starts delivering value. This is one of those do your own research projects to decide whether or not you want to jump into this adventure.

I found Nodle quite an exciting project, but aren’t they all?

And that’s all folks!

I hope you found this article interesting, please share it with your friends and leave your feedback in the comments section.

Also, let me know if you are aware of any other way to earn free cryptos. I will check them out and add them to the list for everyone’s benefit.
