So, I’ve been using Chat GPT for quite a while now (my last two articles on Medium are written by Chat GPT), and I’ve gathered some great insights about the infrastructure of this AI model. Read on and know whether it is worth it for a professional writer.

OpenAI (Founder Company Of Chat GPT)

What Is Chat GPT?

As per Chat GPT itself:

GPT, or Generative Pre-training Transformer, is a natural language processing model developed by OpenAI. It is a type of language model that is trained on a large dataset and is able to generate text that is human-like in its style and coherence. GPT can be used for a variety of tasks, including translation, summarization, and chatbot responses. It is called “generative” because it is able to generate text based on a given prompt, and “pre-training” because it is trained on a large dataset before being fine-tuned on a specific task.

How Does It Work?

The fundamental principle of Chat GPT regarding writing articles, blogs, and essays is the same method we humans have followed for years. Google it, get the correct information, and paraphrase. However, with Chat GPT, you relieve yourself from all the responsibility and stress of finding the correct information and paraphrasing. The tool does it for you.

Ask The Right Questions

Asking questions is an art and skill in itself, and one thing I’ve learned after writing tens and thousands of words with Chat GPT is that it is essential to ask the right questions. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck with the same information, either paraphrased or presented in bullet points, and vice versa.

Is It Plagiarism Free?

Well, as per the Plagiarism checker from Grammarly, it is mostly under 10%, but a more strict and well-designed plagiarism checker may disagree.

What Is the Problem?

The major problem I encountered over the past few weeks was that the information it gave could be repetitive. Although, as mentioned above, asking the right questions can allow you to deal with this problem, then again, the details are limited and quite one-dimensional. A better and more critical writer would not be satisfied with the tool’s ability to provide in-depth analysis.

On the other hand, one of the significant flaws I encountered was a substantial repetition of words and format. Let’s say you open a chat box. You ask it a question about a topic and then move to another issue, but your question is formatted similarly. There is a high degree of probability that Chat GPT will repeat many phrases and lines, making your overall article look unattractive in a literary critic’s eyes. Furthermore, the format of providing information remains the same. It may start and end with a similar format for many different questions, lacking uniqueness.

What’s My Final Take?

It is simple; if you want to write short articles Nevertheless, if you are looking for extensive research-based reports, and if you need to write them critically, I would suggest seasoned writers should write them themselves. But don’t waste this technical genius. Chat GPT can still help you a lot with information collection. You don’t need to skim many articles and research papers to get the correct information. This impressive AI can do it for you.
