The Genesis
It has been like a game of two sides i.e the none believers vs the believers, government vs crypto projects, right vs wrong, etc.
Its almost natural to assume that when you fight and keep fighting, you tend to grow stronger, grow thick skin, gain experience, knowledge and generally everything you need to win a fight.
I believe that the same has happened in the crypto space. The crypto space discovered that one of the most effective way to drive global adoption is constant Evangelism i.e spread the word, make the noise, everyone must know that crypto is the future of money. This way, the government will have no option but to adopt crypto.
The Evangelism Strategy (Positives and Negatives)
Positives
- Results: The evangelism strategy is yielding results as some top governments bodies around the world are beginning to work on a crypto adoption framework, even as ECB (European Central Bank) is working on the launch of Euro CBDC (Central bank digital currency). Read about the Digital Euro
- Increased Awareness: The word is spreading rapidly like wild fire. More people have generally normalised crypto as a form of asset, value or even money.
Negatives
- Noise: Do you remember what it feels like to be a newbie in the crypto space? Well I do. I remember Defi, Cefi, Dyor, Dao, Protocol, Non-custodial, custodial, Wallet Extension, project this, project that and hundred other slangs and words. I remember just being very confused. Today, the noise continues to confuse and disturb a lot of people in the space.
- Scam: With all the noise going on, it makes it very easy for some bad people to disguise as real project, collect money from people and just disappear.
- Low quality: It is also very easy for some high school grads with some coding skills and no real experience to come up with some projects, make noise about it raise some money and then BOOM! crash.
Remedies
The truth is that I only know of one remedy. Here it is ; DO A THOROUGH RESEARCH about any project before you jump in as an investor or community member. You can also use Kryptview as a go to tool when doing your research.
