Development of Valorize DAO’s Unity NFT: Part 2 — Membership NFT (Art)

Our Unity NFT is architected to include everything NFT enthusiasts desire: a passionate team of Valorize DAO contributors, multiple top-tier artists and experienced smart contract developers. Together, we have built an unprecedented collection to reflect the diversity at the heart of Web3 and manifest a solar punk vision for the future. What is the Membership NFT and how did the art come together?
ValorizeDAO has been made to serve humans and to improve their collaboration by creating user-friendly, no-code token launching platforms. Through our optimism and goals, we envision a solar punk world where nature and humans live in harmony, an outcome of efficient human collaboration. With that in mind, we asked twelve world-renowned and talented artists, including the artist that designed the Netflix logo, to create art for this huge NFT project. We kicked off the journey of this wonderful project with an introduction round in ValorizeDAO’s Discord between the ValorizeDAO team, Karl Schulschenk (the art director) and all the artists:
The twelve artists, guided by Karl, each created a bee, octopus or ant. These three animals stand for everything needed to cultivate a solar punk world: hard work, teamwork/cooperation, altruism, intelligence, patience, prosperity and tenacity.
NFT Rarity and Collectability
For each animal, five different rarities have been created: Silver, Gold, Diamond, Obsidian and Mycelia, with Silver being the lowest rarity and Mycelia the highest. The rarity is determined by the amount of NFTs that are available. For example, for the Mycelia rarity, only 12 one of kind art masterpiece NFTs have been created, making it the highest rarity. While for the Silver rarity, 100 NFTs are available for each animal, so a total of 1200 NFTs are available, making it the most common / least rare NFT of our collection. With the increase of the rarity, the animal evolves and the art has increased complexity as it gains more features, different colors and more perks to hold an NFT! Here is a sneak peak at the evolution of a bee when the rarity increases:
Altogether, the artists created twelve different animals and five different rarities, resulting in a beautiful collection that has 60 unique pieces of art for you to collect! “It was really interesting to see each individual’s interpretation of the brief they were given and how they each brought their own unique style and voice to the collection. I think where this collection really stands out is that we’re embracing and exploring a sense of unity over uniformity. While generative NFT collections certainly have their place and value in the space, the approach for this particular collection felt more appropriate and aligned with the solarpunk vision. In this way, the collection feels more reminiscent of a traditional art exhibition. the styles and presentation of each artist’s work doesn’t conform to a singular format.
