The Google Cloud Platform infrastructure service will initially accept cryptocurrency payments from a handful of customers in the Web3 world who want to pay with cryptocurrency, thanks to an integration with the Coinbase Commerce service.

β€œWe want to make building in Web3 faster and easier, and this partnership with Coinbase helps developers get one step closer to that goal,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud.

Shares of Coinbase were up over 5% at $70.76, during pre-market trading.

Coinbase Commerce supports 10 currencies, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Ethereum prices have all declined over 60% in the past year.

Blockchain technologies such as nonfungible tokens, or NFTs, have become a bigger focus for Google’s cloud division.

Also,Crypto.Com β€” has launched its new in-app Google Pay purchase feature. This will allow users to purchase cryptocurrency more quickly through their Android devices through Google Pay.
