Hermine Bourdin is a sculptor by profession in the physical world. Driven by a need to refurnish her interior, she started creating sculptural objects. Her collectors quickly became fond of the unique lamps or tables she had imagined and sculpted by hand.

Hermine began to think about the concept of metaverse, and how she could explore this new creative universe. Before creating NFTs, she started by buying them. She is the proud owner of a Clone X, the NFTs created by RTFKT, a company that was bought by Nike, and that are now worth a small fortune.

Besides avatars, RTFKT also created “loot pods”, which are small apartments in the metaverse, that NFT Clone X owners can furnish. Hermine had already started recreating her signature sculptural objects in NFT to furnish Oncyber galleries, so the next logical step was to furnish lootpods!

So she started with what she knew: her sculptural lamps and tables. She uses the Blender tool, which allows her to model digital objects in 3D. For her debut, she wanted to offer her collectors the possibility to buy a unique piece either in the real world or in the virtual world.

Today, after the success of her sculptural objects that have become NFT, Hermine pushes her thinking further. She has begun to defy the laws of gravity with her latest collection “Métamorphoses”, which are digital sculptural objects that move, form and deform.

Indeed, the primary instinct is to recreate in the metaverse what we already know in the physical world, but Hermine exercises free will and lets her imagination run wild to create sculptures and sculptural objects that levitate, become liquid, disappear and defy the impossible.

Hermine will be present at the Non-Fungible Conference in Lisbon in April, where she will present her work, including a new collection of “phygital” works, virtual objects that can be observed in 3D in the physical world.
She will also participate in the first NFT art auction “the prohibited auction” of the auction house Fauve Paris, under the leadership of its CEO Lucie-Eléonore Riveron, also a woman of character and innovation.
