Greetings Consensus community!

June was a busy month dedicated to the preparations for the Sentient mainnet launch. Our team would like to thank you all for helping us reach this milestone, we couldn’t have come this far without your support.

In this monthly report we are happy to share some of the most important events that took place in June 2018 and inform you of our upcoming plans.

Sentient Network Launch Stages

In June we announced the first step of the Sentient network launch — Airdrop SEN claim process.

If you took part in the World Citizen SEN Airdrop and haven’t yet claimed your airdrop SEN tokens, you will find the detailed instructions on how to do this in this post.

We recommend that you claim your airdrop SEN before the mainnet launch. This will ensure your Sentient network public address is included in the genesis block and you’re able to get your native SEN coins the moment the mainnet genesis block is mined.

Also, we’ve launched the testnet and will be opening the testnet access to a select group of beta-testers and miners shortly. We have 10 invitations left for test network! If you wish to join the beta-testing, send an email to julia@consensus.ai to secure your spot.

The token swap, native SEN distribution and the launch of the Sentient mainnet will happen shortly after the testing stage is complete.

Bitfinex/Ethfinex Listing

Thanks to the support of our community SEN won the Ethfinex community voting and has been listed at both Ethfinex and Bitfinex. We are honoured to have received your overwhelming support, and we’d like to thank everyone for making this happen!

At the moment Bitfinex and Ethfinex trade SEN ERC20 tokens and we are working with them on the native SEN support post launch.

New Team Member

In June our core team got stronger as we welcomed Dustin Plett on board as Chief Strategy Officer. Dustin is now leading business strategy, business development and strategic relationships with government officials and enterprise partners. Before joining the Consensus AI team Dustin worked as VP of Business Development at 500px, the premier social network for photographers. Dustin and Consensus AI founder Oleg Gutsol have worked together since 2010. They share a passion for using technology to solve societal issues and improve everyday lives. Dustin is a great addition to our team, and we are happy to have him by our side.

AI Alliance of the European Commission

Another great piece of news in June was that Consensus AI has been invited to join the European AI Alliance of the European Commission. Consensus AI founder Oleg Gutsol will represent our project at the AI Alliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for Consensus AI to contribute to the development of European AI regulations and to share our vision on key issues related to the use of Artificial Intelligence in the governance sector.

Other News

We are excited to share some insights into the features of the Sentient mainnet:

GPU and CPU mining support
We developed the command-line GPU miner and a CPU miner controlled from the Sentient Wallet app’s GUI. This means that Sentient network users will not necessarily need specialized equipment for mining; any person with a PC will be able to join the mining pool by just by downloading our wallet.

Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Compute consensus algorithms
The initial version of the Sentient network will be secured using a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus algorithm. PoW was chosen over many other algorithms because of its track record in securing the biggest cryptocurrency blockchains, the community’s maturity of understanding of PoW systems and the limited attack vectors against such systems.

However, for the past several quarters, our technical team has been working on a unique Proof-of-Compute consensus protocol that uses machine learning algorithms, its details will be released in a separate technical paper at the time of the Sentient main network launch. We plan to initially launch with the Proof-of-Work and upgrade the network to the Proof-of-Compute protocol in the next release.

Offline transaction signing
As a bonus feature, we’ve implemented support for the offline transaction signing, for network participants who desire an extra layer of security. A full guide and instructions on how to sign transactions in cold storage will be published at launch.

Blockchain explorer
Our tech team is completing the Sentient network explorer, which will allow for checking the transaction status without opening the wallet app and unlocking your wallet.

Sentient network website
Along with the mainnet we will be launching the standalone Sentient network website with a focus on network features, mining rewards, requirements for nodes and other details.

More exciting news will be announced at the time of the mainnet launch. We especially hope you’ll like our reward schedule!
