Hello! Hi. How are you guys? I got a really cute French girlie haircut this week but I’m still in a bit of a slump. I know I’m supposed to be, post-wedding and post-honeymoon and all. But it’s a tough pill to swallow.

In today’s edition of Content Consumed, let’s chat…
🎬 Weekend Content Report: Succession, March Madness, and more
💍 I know who tried to propose to Rihanna
👙 Is reality TV sex-safe?
👠 What’s inside Julia Fox’s memoir

Weekend Content Report

Here’s what’s on deck as I sink into my brand-new sofa this weekend (way too excited about that, I know):

Watching

Two important things here: Succession season 4 (the final season!!!) premiere and March Madness.

I am in the absolute lowest hemisphere in one of my brackets and I’ve got a shot at 3rd place in the other. And what more can be said about Succession that I haven’t already rambled on about? Come back here Monday morning for my full review and reaction.

Reading

Your Driver Is Waiting by Priya Guns. It’s interesting. It’s a bit miserable, but in the best and most intentional way. The premise:

In this electrifyingly fierce and funny social satire — inspired by the iconic 1970s film Taxi Driver — a ride share driver is barely holding it together on the hunt for love, dignity, and financial security…until she decides she’s done waiting.

I’m already enjoying the satirical critique of social justice movements, protests, local organizing, and solidarity—if you can’t laugh about it you’ll cry, after all.

Listening

Still the same three albums I’ve been listening to on repeat for months: Like..? by Ice Spice, The Car by Arctic Monkeys, and S.O.S. by SZA. Sorry!

Oh! But there is a podcast I’m excited for. Sunday Scaries and Celebrity Memoir Book Club met up in Austin last week and recorded and it’s such an insane worlds-colliding situation. Two of my favorite pods, both of which I’ve listened to for years.

Who tried to propose to Rihanna?

Someone showed up at Rihanna’s house to propose this week and caused a massive security issue.

My top 3 suspects:

  1. Leonardo DiCaprio. She’s the one he’s never been able to have. He clearly can’t settle down for a reason…
  2. Drake. That man’s dream of marrying Rihanna (or Nicki) will never die.
  3. Realistically: a stalker with no actual connection to Rih.

Read of the week: Is reality TV sex-safe?

Fortunately, intimacy coordinators are becoming more and more commonplace on your standard TV and movie film set.

But…where are they on reality TV? Would their presence—as opposed to the presence of normal producers—disrupt the ~reality~?

Rolling Stone researched and debated this. Read it here.

What’s in Julia Fox’s new memoir?

Julia Fox’s memoir is officially releasing this fall and I might just pre-order it now. If you thought she was gonna Caroline Calloway this, you’d be wrong! She has a real publisher and everything.

Inside Down the Drain, according to the publisher:

  • Her breakout Uncut Gems (“uncut jaaahmms”) role
  • Her trendsetting, pap-friendly style
  • Her parents’ volatile relationship and her childhood spent between NYC and Italy
  • Her abusive drug-dealing ex-boyfriend and her work as a dominatrix
  • Her past heroin addiction, the near-fatal overdoses of her friends, and her own near-fatal overdoses
  • A brief marriage, her struggles as a single parent, and her relationship with a man she refers to as “the artist” (Kanye, duh)

This memoir, I believe, will give us EVERYTHING. And I’m stoked.

That’s all from me today! See you Monday to talk Succession!!!

Cheers,
Casey
