Succession: Episode 4 Recap and Review

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Another intense episode—obviously not as extreme as last week, but we’re deep in the game of Succession!

Let’s get the big shit out of the way…. Shiv is pregnant.

Yup. I guessed dead wrong. I missed a huge hint from the previous episode, too: Shiv refused a glass of champagne when she walked on the boat for Connor’s wedding. Now, I’m dialed in. In this episode, she keeps buttoning and unbuttoning her jacket. You can see the bump just a tiny, tiny bit. I think Marcia noticed too, which could put another little spin on things.

Is it Tom’s? A sperm bank? A one-night stand? Her old booty call, that one guy she worked on Gil’s campaign with?

And the big fall. Shiv took a tumble at the wake and it was gnarly. No real blood or bruises that we could see—but it was in front of everyone and could certainly impact the pregnancy. Yikes.

Other notable moments:

  • Marcia’s back and out for vengeance. This means fucking with Kerry. Here’s your box, Kerry! We’ve got you a car to take you to the subway to take back to your shitty little apartment, Kerry! Oof. I was a bit surprised when Roman finally showed empathy for someone experiencing public humiliation…and it was Kerry. Compare this to him tripping and mocking Kendall at Kendall’s own 40th birthday party. Is it because he knows Marcia is a power player now and wants to tame her already-exaggerated actions?
  • Karl is also looking to climb to the top and he’ll take anyone (especially Tom) down to get there. Gerri notes that he did great things for cable in the nineties… and nothing since. My queen.
  • Greg’s in trouble. He’s brushed off by nearly everyone he tries to talk to at this wake, from Roman to Tom to even Marcia. Trash-talking Kerry doesn’t get him far.
  • Tom’s also in trouble. He was thoroughly dressed down by Karl and then got a virtual slap in the face from Shiv when he tried to be kind (and keep on her good side…). Everyone’s motives and priorities are very fuzzy right now.
  • KENDALL IS A SHARK!!! There is no Logan to hold this man back any longer. We start the episode with Kendall in his apartment, where he looks like he might just try to kill himself. We end it with his first act as co-CEO betraying Roman and blackmailing Hugo. Iconic.
  • The funniest moments:
    (1) The kids reading Logan’s obits and adding their own colorful commentary.
    (2) That damn piece of paper. Give the Emmy to whoever in the props department perfectly drew that line. Is Kendall’s name crossed out or underlined?!

NBA post-season picks

Me, watching the regular season of the NBA? Unless I’m in the Moda Center cheering on the Blazers, it’s not usually happening.

But I’m dialing into the post-season. What I want to see:

Star power. Can’t believe Giannis is already injured, because he’s so much fun to watch. But yeah, I’ll closely follow the stacked teams with names I know (ex: the Suns, the Warriors, the Lakers), even if the team itself isn’t ranked high.

Plenty of Game 7s. There’s a reason March Madness is fun for all—sudden death games are always the most interesting and anyone can get into them.

TNT and other streamers: stay strong. Please. It shouldn’t be this hard to watch sports but it always is.

Conference finals predictions:
[EAST] Boston plays Miami and wins.
[WEST] Denver plays Memphis and wins.

Finals prediction:
Denver plays Boston and wins.

Everything I saw online about Coachella’s Weekend 1

The big question:
If Vanessa Hudgens doesn’t go to Coachella, is it a flop?

Because the truth is, I haven’t seen much online about Coachella this year.

Here’s what I DO know:

And that’s it for today! Thanks for reading. I’m almost at 500 followers, so if you like this column, follow and share it with your friends.
