Hey! Happy Wednesday. I’m just barely keeping it together but routine always helps—and routine includes writing this column! Just waiting for sunnier days ahead.

In today’s edition of Content Consumed:
🩸 Twilight… the TV show?
🔥 Sydney Sweeney, Glen Powell, and rumors
🎥 Can’t believe Rachel McAdams turned down these 5 movies
💌 A wholesome Wes Anderson TikTok trend

First a Harry Potter TV series, now Twilight

Genre programming stays in-demand as popular early-aughts movies are made into new TV shows. Last fall, we saw it with the Lord of the Rings Amazon series. Soon, Harry Potter on (HBO) Max.

And… maybe even Twilight as a TV show.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that “The Twilight Saga is getting the television treatment… a series version of author Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling book series is in early development via Lionsgate Television.”

Well, we know Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won’t be part of it. Who could possibly play the new Edward and Bella?

I almost don’t want to speculate, because I think we’d all be better off if the cast was made up of relatively young and unknown actors.

Realistically: we’d be better off if this TV show doesn’t happen at all. #StopRemakes

I get it now: Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell

It’s not that I was a Glen Powell hater.

I just didn’t get it. Seemed like an average-looking, kind of tall white boy to me!

But then I saw photos from the set of his rom-com with Sydney Sweeney. I’ve tossed my hands up in surrender. They are surely two of the most beautiful humans alive.

And therefore: there is speculation. Both Sydney and Glen are happily committed to their significant others… but look at them. Just look. Browse those photos for a moment.

Two very attractive people who have apparently spent Easter with each others’ families. Come on.

I’ll be first in line when this rom-com comes out. Hugh Grant might join.

All the movies Rachel McAdams turned down

In a profile with Bustle this week, Rachel McAdams revealed that she turned down roles in:

  • The Devil Wears Prada (Anne Hathaway starred, though McAdams could’ve also been great)
  • Casino Royale (Eva Green starred, a perfect casting)
  • Mission: Impossible III (Michelle Monaghan starred)
  • Iron Man (I assume this was the role of Pepper that Gwyneth Paltrow, queen of the Deer Valley ski resort, took)
  • Get Smart (this also went to Anne Hathaway)

All five movies that she rejected, released between 2006 and 2008, ended up being box office hits.

But you know what? She’s got no regrets. The Notebook, Mean Girls, and other movies she’s starred in remain classics and she’s well-respected in the industry. Here at Content Consumed, we stan.

*One other interesting part from the profile was when McAdams revealed that she walked off the set of the March 2006 Vanity Fair cover shoot when she found out she was supposed to be nude. Kiera Knightley and Scarlett Johansson went through with it, but McAdams said no and left. I always wonder what happens in these scenarios—why say yes, why say no, and what are the pros and cons of doing such a cover? It’s a beautiful photo. Were Kiera and Scarlett happy with it? I hope so. No one should ever have to feel regret about these kinds of things, or like they were forced into it.

Wholesome Internet: A Wes Anderson TikTok trend

Sometimes the Internet isn’t shitty!

I’m not on TikTok but I’ve been made aware of this very cute trend, where people document tiny scenes from their days in the style of a Wes Anderson movie (which is typically very distinctive).

There are more intense and impactful clips, like one Ukrainian refugee surveying damage in her city. Then there are very professional and impressive clips, like this man in his woodshop. Then there are just fun and artsy ones, like this girl on a train.

Enjoy!

And that’s it for today! Thanks for reading!

Cheers,
Casey
