Today at 11:58:58PM GMT, after 4 months of development, the Alpha version of Content Fly will go live on Internet Computer (ICP), accepting the first 1000 people who are quick enough to sign up. To be eligible you will need to claim your spot before the launch time, of which more than 30,000 early adopters have done so!

While the launch time of 11:58:58PM GMT has no special significance whatsoever (one of our founders said the number looked nice), the launch of our Alpha version is a special day for our team, creators, Internet Computer, and the greater decentralized enthusiast community.

Our north star for Content Fly is to empower content creators and content buyers with the ability to own and reap rewards from the marketplace platform in which they play a part in. While the Alpha version of Content Fly does not yet achieve decentralized ownership, we are working hard to get there as quickly and viably as possible. A platform owned by its users means it can evolve and grow in ways that benefit the greatest number of users and not a single centralized company or small group of majority shareholders looking out for their own interests as a first priority. By participating in the Content Fly marketplace, users will be rewarded as the platform grows in size and activity, with a stake in the ownership of the platform by means of Content Fly tokens. This decentralized ownership model is something we are working towards and can be seen in our development roadmap here. We also have plans for escrow (non-custodial) smart contract payment, enabling safe job payment from buyers and payout to creators - a first for a marketplace DApp on Internet Computer.

By bringing content creators and content buyers together, Content Fly makes acquiring any type of content (text, design, photo, video & audio) simple. Anyone can create a job for the content they require and enter in the specifics of what they need and when. Content creators can find jobs that match their skill sets and interact with the job poster to propose their plan (through chat) for creating the content that will complete the job.

Our Content Fly team was one of the first to receive a $25k USD grant from the DFINITY Foundation. We are extremely grateful for the support of the amazing DFINITY community, as this has enabled us to create Content Fly. Our team is made up of 3 core founders: Henry Chan - Lead Software Engineer, Sam McCallum - Product Manager and Thimpika Sachdej - Content Specialist.

We decided to build Content Fly on Internet Computer as we believe it is the only blockchain that has the complete infrastructure stack running directly on blockchain through smart contracts instead of through traditional cloud services.

If you would like to follow our journey you can follow us on Twitter, and to gain access to the Content Fly DApp you can claim your spot for when we open up to more users. We look forward to having you be a part of this revolution!
