Christopher Ward is one of my favorite independent watch brands.

Ever since the release of the Bel Canto, the brand made it abundantly clear it should be taken seriously. Right now, I consider it to be one of the best options for robust Swiss Made mechanical movements for affordable prices. It would be no exaggeration to claim they are solid contenders against the likes of Seiko, Hamilton, Mido, and even Oris or Longines at this point.

As complete as their portfolio had been for quite a while, Christopher Ward still hadn’t found an ideal candidate to compete within one of the most demanded sections of the market. They still needed to find an “integrated bracelet sports watch” for their own lineup. This type of watch was inspired by the stupid hype surrounding luxury pieces like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus. At the moment, the most successful player within the affordable price point is currently the beloved Tissot PRX.
