If you’re like us, your early years were shaped by music—but not your music. Some songs we loved and sang along with in the backseat, others we never want to hear again. This is a playlist of those songs. And no ageism here…our list spans four decades!

Sage chose “Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress)” by The Hollies:

My dad and I were very into the movie “Remember the Titans,” which has an amazing soundtrack (the instrumental score has become a staple at the Olympics and even accompanied Obama’s victory speech in 2008!). It’s really shaped my taste in music and I could add every song from it, but I’m going with The Hollies.

Greg chose “Cheeseburger in Paradise” by Jimmy Buffet:

Listening to this putrid song almost made me become a vegetarian.
