Yesterday we took a look at how the Spring ’21 release is empowering admins to automate Salesforce Surveys as part of a Flow — but that’s not the only improvement this release is bringing to fans of the feedback-gathering tool. In today’s installment of release highlights, we’re sticking with surveys and yet another way they’re being made easier to use: embedding them on the web!

Because let’s face it, you don’t always want to engage your audience via email, being able to embed and host Salesforce Surveys on your site really broadens their use-cases and allows you to query the folks who are already present and participating (as opposed to hoping to get their attention again in their inbox).

To embed your surveys on your webpage, all you’ll need to do is add an iframe that contains the survey invite url, so it’ll look something like this:

<iframe src="embed_the_survey_invitation_url"></iframe>

Granted, the use of iframes has been falling out of vogue for the last few years due to SEO concerns and the security risks that come with giving a third-party access to your sites’ users but, theoretically, you won’t be using surveys on a page that you’d like to see at the top of search results (because you want to be more selective in targeting who’s feedback your seeking) and you can be certain that Salesforce isn’t going to insert anything malicious security-wise so those concerns are mitigated for now. The only thing to worry about would be if browsers in the future begin to treat iframes more adversarially, regardless of their source, but if that happens I’m sure we’ll see another option for embedding in the subsequent Salesforce release.

For now though, starting in March, admins everywhere will be able to easily and seamlessly reach even more people for the feedback that brings you closer to the coveted Customer-360.

As always, if you’d like to have a more personalized chat about how the changes will affect your org or how your business might be able to leverage new functionality to achieve your 2021 goals, drop us a line! We’re always happy to help.

And until next time, keep working hard, smart, and happy. We’ll see you in the cloud.
