Arbitrum “Re-ignites” its Odyssey

Hey if you’ve been following me for awhile, you probably would have completed some of the actions that I outlined in my Arbitrum airdrop guide which would have made you eligible for their Airdrop announced last March.

Not directly tied in with the airdrop itself (but arguably still relevant because completing all the tasks would have made you eligible for the airdrop), Arbitrum’s Odyssey — a series of quests for NFTs which were abruptly stopped after just weeks from high demand — is now set to “re-ignite” on September 26th (today, time of writing).

Similar to the original Odyssey, the Arbitrum team has officially announced that there won’t be any airdrops tied in with completing any of the tasks or receiving any of the NFTs. This is coming off the news where nearly $60 million worth of $ARB from unclaimed airdrops were being returned to Arbitrum’s treasury.

Details on the Re-ignited Odyssey:

▹ The first “mission” will start on September 26th, 12pm EDT:

▹ Each mission will last for roughly a week, going on for a total of 7 weeks

▹ Once a mission is completed, you can claim your NFT badge, which also must be claimed in that corresponding week.

▹ Going forward there are a total of 13 badges that can be completed

▹ Similar to the initial Odyssey, each week’s mission will correspond to a specific protocol(s):

▹More details and specifics can be found on Arbitrum’s official announcement

Conclusion

Once again, there’s no official airdrop tied in with any of these tasks, but it allows users to at least be introduced to some new protocols. From a quick look at the 7 week-schedule, I’ve heard of most of them, but honestly I’ve actually only interacted with about half; thus the odyssey is a good excuse to go exploring and get acquainted.

What I’m also excited about is the Arbitrum Odyssey 2.0 campaign which was launched last summer. Unlike the Reignition campaign, Arbitrum Odyssey 2.0 is not officially put on by the Arbitrum, but instead by a collaboration of several Arbitrum protocols. In addition to free NFTs, many of these quests have included specific rewards and raffles in order to encourage participation — all tied in with tideprotocol.xyz:

If you’re just tuning into this now, you’ll find that the 2.0 Odyssey is temporarily on hold and will be set to resume 7 weeks from now once the Reignition Odyssey concludes.

I’ve made a ton of mistakes along the way in the world of cryptos. Hopefully taking some of the lessons learned you’ll be more successful than I have.
