Presale starts December 6, 12p PST!

Just a quick reminder to those who haven’t read the overview. CryptoAssault is an MMO war game on the blockchain. Players deploy military units onto a huge map with thousands of other players. You can battle other units, capture territory and mine resources to vie for daily Ethereum rewards.

Check out our new gameplay trailer!

Here’s everything you need to know for the pre-sale.

Pre-sale Structure

There will be 6 packs of units for sale. These packs will give the player a random set of units. Everything starts at 30% off. The discount drops by 1% every 2 days. Remember that older units will collect larger Ethereum land earnings so pre-sale is a great way to get a headstart.

Ethereum Rewards and Unit Upgrades

The goal of the game is to capture as much territory as you can with your units. Remember that your units own the land around them in a radius unless an enemy unit is in your territory. You then split the tiles in dispute based on proximity and unit rarity.

The world is divided into 4 rings (3 rings and 1 circle really). As you move towards the center, the land becomes more valuable in two ways:

  • The Daily Ethereum land earnings you receive become greater for all the territory that your units have held.
  • The Ethereum-filled satellite that crash lands into some lucky player’s territory has a greater chance to land towards the center. This reward is large.

Unit Upgrading

To travel to an inner ring, you’ll need to increase unit’s star-rating. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Every purchased unit from pre-sale will be a 1-star.
  • A unit must absorb 2 units of the same type and star-rating to increase its star-rating. There are 5 different unit types: tanks, trucks, mechs, jets, helis.
  • Unit evolution is better when you absorb the exact same unit type. Your stats will get a boost when absorbing the exact same unit type. There are 30 total units.
  • The max star-rating is 4-stars.
  • Absorbing a lower rarity unit may drop the rarity of your resulting unit.
  • Stats matter! Lower stats can drag down the stats of your resulting unit.

How many units should I buy to get ___ 4-star units?

This is a common question I get. Players want a certain amount of 4-star units but don’t know how many units to buy. The table below shows on average what you will get:

Remember, it’ll take 27 units to make a 4-star, 9 units to make a 3-star, and 3 units to make a 2-star. We fully expect people to trade to get what they want. Join Discord to trade with others!

Older Units are Better!

A unit can 4x their land value if they are a year old. A new unit will 1x their land value but as that unit gets older, that unit’s land value will grow to 4x. Pre-sale units will get a great head start!

Unit Cooldown Timers

  • Units need to refuel for 3 hours after every move.
  • Units need to repair for 24 hours after every death before they can be redeployed.

Think about how many units you want to move in one sitting and you may want to double or triple that number since your units might be dying throughout the day. Eventually your dying units will be coming off repair cooldown continuously over the course of the day.

Unit Packs

Unit packs are how units will be sold. Players will receive random units out of a pack. There are 30 unit types. Every unit type can be any of the 4 rarities.

The chances in a ‘COMMON unit or better’ pack are:

  • 80% Common
  • 15% Rare
  • 4% Epic
  • 1% Legendary

Therefore the chances in a ‘RARE unit or better’ pack are:

  • 75% Rare
  • 20% Epic
  • 5% Legendary

Remember that higher rarity units have better battle stats and have a larger territory radius. Higher rarity units can also “push” their territory into lower rarity units giving them more earning power.

Unit Layering

Layering units of different types and forming protective layers around units will be a good strategy. In the office, I’ve been calling it “the protective onion”. Here is the unit countering chart:

Tanks > Trucks > Mechs > Jets > Helis > Tanks

The reason layering works is because you can use units to block enemy pathing so they can’t reach a certain unit without eliminating the outer units first. Here are somethings to know:

  • Each unit type counters two other unit types. Tanks hard counter trucks and soft counter mechs, etc.
  • Ground units block the pathing of other ground units.
  • Air units block the pathing of other air units.
  • You may want to surround a weak unit that is mining with stronger units.
  • You may want to block choke points with layers of ground or air units.

How Good is My Unit?

Let’s say you’ve bought a unit. How do you judge how good it is?

  • A unit’s total damage is a great way to judge how good a unit is. That’s the yellow number in the upper right.
  • Rarity: The rarity of a unit is a great indicator of how good it is. Higher rarity units have better battle stats and larger territory radii.
  • Each stat has a stat range underneath it. You want them to be as close as they can to their max.
  • If your unit has a special ability, it will be highlighted in the unit description below the unit.

Battle Stats

Here is more detail on what makes up our ERC-721 unit tokens:

  • Every unit has 5 damage stats and a mining rate stat. These are unique to the token. Every unit is different. You’ll be able to see the range of each of these stats and also see why a unit counters another unit. A tank’s damage vs a truck will be very high but it’s damage vs a Helicopter will be very low.
  • The mining rate shows you how fast a unit will mine resources. Resources are used to temporarily buff your unit. They will later be used to construct buildings. Flying units have low mining rates.
  • A unit’s territory radius is given by its rarity. For example, all legendary units have a much larger radius than a rare. In addition, they can push their disputed territory into lower rarity units’ territory. A unit’s radius never changes.
