Project Artemis

This week we successfully upgraded our public testnet as part of Buzz, phase two of our incentivised testnet, Project Artemis. We began Buzz on the 8th of November and are marching toward the next phase, Armstrong, in the coming weeks. Validators can join the testnet and earn rewards by following the instructions below.

Update

The upgrade of our network as part of Buzz, our public testnet phase two, has been successful. As shared earlier, the primary purpose of the public testnet’s software upgrade was to introduce the NFT module functionality. We are ready to test two tasks with the developers in our community regarding NFTs, and we’ll share the instructions early next week in the Build section of our docs.

These tasks are going to be:

  • Mint an NFT in the Cudos network
  • Send an NFT from one wallet to another

Also on the cards next week is introducing the governance proposal task with the community to test the newly established time window of 24 hours for voting on proposals.

Upcoming token migration

We’ve been receiving many questions about our upcoming token migration from our Telegram community. So, here’s how it will unfold.

We’re finishing preparations for the Address Mapping tool, which will be available to the community in early December. Address Mapping will allow users staking tokens on our Staking Platform to automatically migrate their Cudos ERC-20 tokens to Cudos native coins once we release our mainnet in Q1 2022.

Those token holders who are not staking will need to use a smart contract to migrate. But for now, just stay tuned for more details on our token migration in subsequent updates.

Background

In late September, Cudos went live with the first phase of our incentivised testnet, Project Artemis. The focus of the first phase, Apollo, primarily was onboarding Validators and developers and collecting insights from our growing community. The testnet received overwhelming support, with over 22,000 developers registering themselves in the first phase and providing us with valuable feedback for improving and evolving the Cudos network.

We will be distributing the rewards to the whitelisted validators over the coming weeks after reviewing and analysing the responses. Developers and the rest of the validators will be incentivised after the mainnet launch in early 2022. Also, here’s the list of all developer winners who completed tasks and earned rewards during the first phase.

In November, we officially launched the Cudos network ecosystem with the beginning of phase two of Project Artemis, Buzz. This enables developers to test smart contracts on Cudos and start building anything they want on our network.

Last chance to join this phase and get rewards?

With just one week left of phase two of project Artemis, we’d encourage you to get involved right away by following the links below:

Also, note that you’ll receive rewards based on the tasks you complete as part of Project Artemis.

P.S. If you’ve already bought your CUDOS tokens, you can make the most of them by staking them on our platform to secure the network and, in return, receive rewards.

About Cudos

The Cudos Network is a Layer 1 blockchain and Layer 2 computation and oracle network designed to ensure decentralised, permissionless access to high-performance computing at scale and enable scaling of computing resources to 100,000’s of nodes. Once bridged onto Ethereum, Algorand, Polkadot, and Cosmos, Cudos will enable scalable compute and Layer 2 Oracles on all of the bridged blockchains.
