I read a story recently, where the writer declared they were going to write what the hell they want to write about on Medium, and whether they acknowledge it or not, the writer was actually providing some insightful advice.

The main focus of their story had to do with the constant barrage of “how to” stories on the platform, so naturally they didn’t appreciate the comment I left, suggesting that they were, in affect, adding to the existing how to information.

Naturally, when you’re excited about what you’re learning, and you manage to either overcome a challenge, or reach a new milestone, you want to share your experience.

Many of the stories that are mistakenly packaged as how to stories, are merely suggestions about what could work for others, based on a writer’s own success or failures.

Since every single person is unique and different from the next, the same will be true about every single Medium experience, no…
