I love those random unforgettable memories that make me smile, no matter what’s going on in my life right now” — Anonymous

That sudden drop of rain
In my palm,
That flowed like a river through me,
Seconds the book of poems
converted to yawns
unheard of thee,

Spotting that shady oak we
found walking miles in the sun,
Corner of the street,
Ice creams and that Cola man,

That word-less moment
When we vowed for fun
Eyes knowing, minds are undone,
Oft,
Opening the lid of my mother’s
Jar of pickle,
The scent of her, unalloyed love
tickle,

Of all the stones that prick
the locker floor,
My heirloom found in woven
threads of her lore,
Moments of banter,
Crushing on the floor laughing,
Jokes silly, binding minds
In untold synchrony,

That
Small paper piece
’Sorry’ crying crossed,
Thinking all is lost
after witless we fought,
Still lies safe
in that old cardboard box,

When
A ’Thank you Note’
after we made up,
from the corner peeks,
Dreary-eyed, but still remembers
to smile at me —

Unpretentious moments
Manifestations of un-words,
Those small pastilles, add value
to become memories
Savoured….

Little things are the things
that I look for, when I look
for things,
Precious treasures they are
To my heart’s charging

Hold a little close if I may,
Often ardent, at times carefree,
Carrying with me when I cross
the threshold one day —

Wondering, will they remember
those rains shine and me!

My Corner : Memories are what we create stitching moments plucked from the precious of life.
One such for me is definitely my mother’s creatives with fabric, which we grew up watching, experiencing and wearing.
All the dresses we sisters wore as a child which garnered praise in friend’s get-together and birthday parties were stitched by her.
Now over that phase, she is stitching heirlooms for keeps-sake — Carpets for all of us, including my cousins and her daughters-in-law who came into our family.

None to find place in lockers, but to keep close to our heart as memories warm for days cold. Priceless.
Today’s image is a collage of several ones she has completed.
