Community Admins: Who are they and What can they do?

Let’s talk about who Community Admins are, and the role they play on Dara.

Community Admins form an important link between Dara’s Partner Organizations and their Affiliates. Admins are tasked with running Partner Communities, making Announcements on behalf of their Orgs and ensuring that the Communities they administrate do not get discursive.

It’s important to remember that anyone on Dara can start a Community, and that Communities don't necessarily need to be linked to a Dara Partner. In such cases, these Communities still need to have Admins set in order to administrate them. Peep our article on creating Communities on Dara here.

If you’ve recently been made a Community Admin on Dara, or if you’d just like to know more, here’s a list of functions you can expect from the role:

• Adding and removal of Members from Communities.
• Approving or denying Dara’s Members access to Communities.
• Adding other Dara Members to the Admin roster.
• Changing the visibility of their Communities.
• Changing Community Icons.
• Deleting Communities.
• Setting Community Norms and helping Community Members follow them.
• Broadcasting Partner Announcements on Broadcast Channels e.g.- ‘Announcements’ Channels.
• Answering Partner-related queries from Community Members.

Additionally, Dara’s Partner Community Admins are also added to the Admins of Dara Community, where they receive regular updates from Dara’s team regarding the latest bug fixes, updates and features.
