In the final assignment of the course “Social Issues, Social Innovation and Corporate Responsibility”, of the department of “Communication, Media and Culture” of Panteion University, in Athens, our team, “Beyondrace” had to share the story of our social innovation venture.

In the beginning of this assignment, we considered necessary to re-introduce ourselves, and our team, for one last time, but also to express our main goal, which is to spread awareness and inform Greek citizens for the inequalities that still exist in today’s society, especially when it comes to racial racism.

In addition, we focused on more specific goals. For example, we tried to be an awaken call for Greek people and make them realise how it is to be a member of a marginalized group, in our days. An other example of our goals has to do with the inequality that exists between people, when it comes to job opportunities in our country.

Furthermore, we shared the conclusions we drew from a video of Onassis Stegi. In this video, some members of the afrogreek community discussed about their experiences in finding a job in the capital of Greece. It’s very obvious that many employers reject potential employees, just because of their skin color.

In the end of the assignment, we presented the plan of action of our team, BeyondRace. We thought that it would be more effective, if we divide our plan on two main pillars, the Greek community and the Greek employers.
