Two days ago, Trump signed the executive order to promote AI. Across the border, Canadian officials set aside $100 million to draw investments from AI companies to the province to Alberta. In 2017, China unveiled plans to create an AI industry worth $150 billion by 2030. In fact, it’s almost a race to mobilize and advance efforts around AI-led technology and the time is ripe.

However, where many are suffering from FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), quite a few are led by FUD.

FUD: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt

At the heart of this issue is the uncertainty around the definition of AI. Simply put, AI deals with autonomous systems that can carry out tasks requiring human intelligence.

Role of AI

There are misunderstandings around the role of AI in our society and the infamous question: “Will AI kill all the jobs?

Ethics of AI

Many are concerned about the ethics of AI. A study that used AI to identify criminal features in faces raised serious ethical issues about how AI should be used and concerns like, just because we can, does that mean we should?

So, what should we do?

I would argue for finding a purpose and problems worth solving.

Today, there is an abundance of data and computing power, which leads to the logical progression towards harnessing both and creating meaning. AI is a powerful tool that can be used to solve very complex problems at a faster rate and in a resourceful manner.

AI in entertainment helps curate content based on popularity. AI in agriculture helps optimize crop yields. AI in healthcare aims to aid physicians to prescribe better treatments tailored to individual patient needs. Thus, AI has many descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive applications, respectively. And in doing so, AI compliments what humans can achieve.

Let’s talk about the problem at the basic, most rudimentary level of design. Design is related to workflow and better design leads to optimization, cost-cutting, and accelerated timelines. Procedural.AI provides an AI-driven design solution that uses natural language to curate data for your specific needs. Whether you want to train autonomous vehicles, build a prototype for the next generation of robots, or create your own movies, we have the solution.
