How Delect is Helping Restaurants Better Connect to Consumers

The restaurant industry has traditionally been a one way street — you eat, bit adieu and leave. But there is one big problem restaurateurs face: How to reengage customers to come back in for repeat business.

Traditionally, that has been done through email marketing, and constant promotions such as 20% off for dinner, or buy one entree and get another for half the price. These are very steep prices to pay to bring in customers, and this approach contributes to low margins for restaurateurs all across the country.

But we know there is also another problem: Consumers are tired of waiting for bills at the end of their meals — they want to pay quickly and efficiently without the hassle of waiting for bills at the end of their meals, whether they’re just one or with twenty other people.

So we thought, instead of the conventional method — described in my previous post here — why not allow consumers to check-in to restaurants, enable restaurants to see consumers directly on their iPad Point-of-sale System, add orders to consumers’ name when they say what they want to order, tap a button to send orders to the kitchen, tap a button to close tabs when consumers are done eating, and enable consumers to pay individually with the tap of a button the minute they’re ready to go, and restaurants receive payments and tips automatically?

This approach solves two fundamental issues: 1) Restaurants can now connect directly to consumers because they know exactly who their customers are, their eating preferences, and invite them back in via direct notification for repeat business; 2) consumers can now pay with the tap of a button the minute they’re done, without having to wait for the bill, whether they’re with themselves or with 20 other people.

The Delect approach enables restaurants to streamline operations — by allowing servers to serve more tables at a time without the need to rush back to a Point-of-sale System to queue in orders before returning to serve another table. Equally, when it comes to closing tabs for tables, servers can now close tabs in succession without the hassle of printing multiple receipts and processing multiple cards, yet increasing customer satisfaction by allowing customers to pay with the tap of a button — regardless of group size — and receiving more tips because consumers don’t have to deal with wait time.

Restaurants use Delect to better connect to consumers, invite them back in based on eating preferences, streamline operations, and increase revenue and customer satisfaction.
