Our tried and tested MO here at DeskBeers is to supply our customers with Craft Beer Boxes which showcase the range of beers brewed by one particular brewery. From well-established UK craft royalty to brand new pretenders, if the beer’s good, we box it up and ship it out.

However, there are ways of grouping beers otherwise than in terms of who has brewed them — which is why we’ve been experimenting this year with a range of ‘curated’ beer boxes, including our International Women’s Day 2018 celebration, our showcase of New London Breweries, and our recent Hallowe’en Craft Fear Box. With these boxes, a theme, rather than any one particular brewery, takes centre stage.

The latest box along thematic lines is one we’re particularly excited about. For us, nothing embodies the Craft Beer ethos quite like the phenomenon of the collaboration, and the DeskBeers Collab Series illustrates some of the wonderful things that happen when beer fanatics from different backgrounds, industries and parts of the world put their heads together. This is a doozy of a box, and one we’re very proud of. Check it out…

Hop Stuff — Jolly Cooperation (w/Barbarian) (6.9%)

Idaho’s Barbarian Brewery are sour beer specialists, and Hop Stuff — as their name suggests — deal in beers which are hop-forward and boldly flavoured. Their collaboration, a Sour IPA, is a logical outcome: it goes big on tropical fruit flavours, supplemented by a sherbet-like fizz and the dank kick of an IPA. Hop Stuff’s debut sour is a memorable one.

Pressure Drop — Nanban Kanpai (w/Tim Anderson) (6.5%)

After winning MasterChef, Tim Anderson went on to open a little Japanese restaurant in Brixton, South London. Working together with UK craft big-hitters Pressure Drop, the team created a Saison-inspired IPA flavoured with yuzu, orange and grapefruit, which combines huge fruit flavours and goes spectacularly well with food.

Weird Beard — Weird Wired (w/8 Wired) (5.7%)

DeskBeers favourites Weird Beard got together with respected New Zealand brewery 8 Wired for this bold, fruity pale. English Bramling Cross hops blend with Kiwi hops Kohatu and Pacific Gem, and the result is a feast of flavour, comprising blackcurrant and tropical fruit, with a spicy kick.
