While this book is more expansive than the lighter, Platonic and Archimedean Solids one, finding which of the two is the best fit for your project will largely depend on whether you need more of the platonic solids or more of a wide range of ideas on shapes and numbers. In my case, I discovered the smaller book not only sufficed but was also more practical to carry around as reference. One of the things that this book was very helpful for, however, was studying the idea of patterns (tessellations). This is where the variety of ideas in the book can really become useful.

Inspired Applications

My electronic poppable book project was inspired by this book’s passage on Tesselation. Durer’s geometric studies also provided a good reference to start off. Experimenting with various mediums, I was able to test out ideas of patterns and repetition, while managing the electric flow.
